Scrapping a requirement and changing how competence is demonstrated are not the same proposal.

How should teachers demonstrate competence in Irish?

Should the emphasis be conversational ability, classroom practice, formal qualifications, supported development after entry—or another approach? What would a fair and credible standard look like?
