Rethinking ‘Challenging Behaviour’: Kids Do Well If They Can, with Dr. Ross Greene

Just recorded a conversation with Dr. Ross Greene and still can’t believe I met him!

If you’ve ever worked with a child who “won’t behave”, Greene flips the whole script: kids do well if they can. Not if they want to. If they can.

That one idea alone has reshaped classrooms, staffrooms, and probably quite a few guilty consciences too.

He’s the mind behind Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) and the author of The Explosive Child, and honestly, speaking to him felt like chatting to someone who has changed education from the ground up without ever shouting about it.

We got into behaviour, schools, systems, and why so much of what we call “challenging behaviour” is actually unmet needs staring us in the face. I also met one of Ireland’s newly qualified practitioners, Ruth Eadie, who shared her experience from a local perspective.

Can’t wait to share this one.
