Yup… the biggest story about education in the news is all about why should teachers get time off work?

Thankfully the Department of Education has come up with decisive action by saying it’s a matter for individual Boards to decide whether schools should open.

I don’t make the decisions but I am guessing that the logic to close schools might be to reduce the largest number of people from the roads as possible without having to compensate anyone financially.

School-going children amount to over 500,000 fewer people on the roads without costing the State a cent or anyone dying.

Perhaps there’s another large number of people that can fulfil this criteria but I don’t know what it is.
